A set of mathematical methods that allow revealing hidden attributes and their relationships based on the analysis of matrices of statistical relationships (correlations “distances”) between measured attributes. The main task of factor analysis is to reduce the set of test measurements to a small number of basic measurements (reducing the number of variables) with the measure of identification of the basic variables being determined by the basic variables.
