Holmes and Ray

A stress meter used to assess people’s stress levels. In 1967, Psychiatrists Thomas Holmes and Richard Rowe examined the medical records of more than 5,000 medical patients as a way to determine if stressful events might cause illness. Patients were asked to count a list of 43 life-based events based on a relative score. A positive relationship of 0.118 was found between their life events and their illnesses.
