Bulb paralysis
(from Latin onion – onion, whose shape resembles a rectangular brain and paralysis) – a syndrome involving paralysis of the muscles of the tongue, lips, soft palate, pharynx, vocal cords and epiglottis, Caused by damage or weakness of the cranial nerves that control these muscles or their motor nucleus in the medulla oblongata.
