Cubic model of the structure of intelligence

a multifactorial model of the structure of intelligence, created by the American psychologist Joy Paul Guilford. The basis of the structure of intelligence is independent factors, or intellectual abilities, each of which can be described on the basis of three dimensions – operations, content and results. Model description:1) Operations are skills that are mainly involved in solving problems: cognitive factors, memory, convergent thinking, divergent thinking, evaluation.2) Content – depends on the type of material and the form of its presentation: figurative, symbolic, semantic, behavioral.3) Result is the final thought product, that is, what a person comes to when solving an intellectual problem: an element, a class, a relation, a system, a transformation, a foresight. The theoretical significance of the model lies in the fact that it demonstrated that a variety of intellectual characteristics can be systematized, which can later lead to the creation of hierarchical models of intelligence. The separation of divergent thinking into a separate category in the model gave rise to research on creativity.
