Visual image processing
a sequence of stages of transformation of visual information, starting with the receptor cells of the retina and ending in the areas of the visual cortex of the brain. The process includes the stages of detecting contours, colors, depth, and movements, leading to the formation of a complex three-dimensional representation of the world around us. Disorders at any stage of processing can cause defects in perception, up to the complete loss of the ability to see individual colors or objects.
