A person who is focused on his inner world, who prefers solitude or small and quiet groups of people to large social events. The term “introvert” was first introduced by the Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung in the early 20th century. In his opinion, introversion means directing one’s attention inward – to one’s thoughts and feelings. However, since the beginning of the 21st century, many psychologists have begun to avoid the terms “introvert” and “extrovert”, considering them too general.
