Associative agnosia
A neuropsychological disorder in which a person is able to perceive and describe visual stimuli (e.g., shapes, objects, faces) but is unable to recognize them or assign meaning to them. The disorder is associated with damage to the parieto-occipital regions of the brain, disrupting the connection between visual perception and semantic memory. In associative agnosia, a person can accurately copy or compare objects, but cannot name or identify them.
