a direction in medical psychology that studies the influence of psychological factors on the occurrence, course and outcome of somatic (bodily) diseases. Some aspects that psychosomatic medicine studies: 1) The influence of emotions on physiological processes. Psychosomatics investigates behavioral reactions associated with diseases, psychological mechanisms that affect physiological functions.2) The influence of mental trauma on a person’s well-being. The level of anxiety and tension, the features of emotional response are studied.3) The influence of social and cultural conditions on health. Conditions of work and rest are considered as possible sources of negative factors affecting a person and can aggravate the course of chronic diseases.
