Accommodation

1) In physiology: the dynamic process of adaptation of vision, associated with the enhancement of the refractive power of the lens of the eye at various distances for accurate focusing of the image on the retina. Weakening of accommodation leads to the loss of the ability to distinguish small print, small details at a close distance.
2) In psychology: Piaget’s theoretical construct of the operational concept of intelligence – the change of already established knowledge, skills and abilities in accordance with the emergence of new conditions; adaptation of the behavior scheme to the situation through activity, as a result of which the existing scheme changes. Accommodation in the development of intelligence has been described by analogy with biological accommodation, the purpose of which is the process of adaptation to the diverse requirements of the surrounding world.
