(from the Greek akme peak, flourishing) is an interdisciplinary science, a philosophical branch of developmental psychology that studies the patterns, mechanisms and conditions for a person to achieve the highest stages of individual development, professional skill and personal maturity. It examines the factors that contribute to or hinder the disclosure of the potential of the individual in various spheres of life: career, creativity, self-realization. Acmeology combines knowledge from psychology, pedagogy, sociology, and management, looking not only at individual achievement, but also at the social, cultural, and age-related aspects of development.
