This is the process of reproducing previously fixed material. As a result, thoughts, images, feelings, and movements known from past experience are actualized. Voluntary and involuntary reproduction are distinguished. Voluntary occurs in connection with a conscious orientation to the actualization of certain traces of memory. Involuntary – past impressions are remembered without a specific task for actualization. The actualization of memory traces is associated with the activation of the prefrontal cortex of the brain.
