Algorithm of the influence of frustration on psychosomatic disorders
A number of stages that determine the occurrence of psychosomatic disorders caused by frustration:
1) Psychological arousal caused by an obstacle to the satisfaction of needs or loss of a goal;
2) Activation of the autonomic nervous system and endocrine system;
3) Secretion of stress hormones that systemically affect the organims;
4) Repetition or continuation of these reactions, leading to physical exhaustion;
5) The occurrence of chronic psychosomatic symptoms or diseases that manifest themselves in various physical forms.
This mechanism demonstrates how an emotional experience – frustration – can be transformed into a tangible pathological factor that directly links mental and physical health.
