Allokinesia

A disorder in which a person performs movements that are not in line with their intentions or are not purposeful in nature. Unlike normal movements, which are controlled by consciousness, in the case of allokinesia, movements appear to be automatic or unintentional. Allokinesia can occur with brain damage, such as abnormalities in the basal ganglia, responsible for controlling movement, the condition can be associated with diseases such as Parkinson’s disease or the effects of a stroke. Allokinesia may manifest as involuntary movements or gestures that the patient cannot control.
