Alzheimer’s Disease Rating Scale (ADAS)

a clinical tool designed to assess cognitive and functional impairment associated with Alzheimer’s disease. The scale is used to monitor the progression of the disease and assess the effectiveness of treatment. It includes several subscales that assess different aspects of cognitive function, such as memory, attention, language, and orientation.
The main components of ADAS include:
1) Memory – an assessment of a patient’s ability to remember information (such as words or objects).
2) Language – testing the patient’s ability to understand and use words, for example, by finding synonyms or performing other lexical tasks.
3) Orientation is an assessment of the patient’s ability to orient himself in time and space.
4) Functional ability – an assessment of daily skills and daily activities, such as personal hygiene or eating.
