A psychological state in which a person has difficulty making a decision due to over-analysis of available information, alternatives, and possible consequences. It is characterized by a high level of cognitive overload, doubts and fear of making a mistake, which leads to inaction or prolongation of the selection process. The term is used in cognitive psychology and decision-making to describe a decrease in the efficiency of thinking when there is an excess of information.
