Analytical Psychology
the theory of personality, developed by C.G. Jung as part of the revision of the provisions of the psychodynamic direction of S. Freud. Differences from Freud’s theory: along with the personal unconscious, there is also a collective unconscious filled with archetypes; libido is widely considered as creative energy that plays a positive role in the development of personality. In analytical psychology, great importance is attached to the desire of a person to acquire selfhood (individuality) through the process of individuation.
