Anokhin’s Biological Theory of Emotions
A scientific hypothesis about the functioning of emotions, according to which emotions are a physiological state of the body, have a pronounced subjective coloring and cover all types of human feelings and experiences. According to the theory of Pyotr Kuzmich Anokhin, “leading emotions participate in the formation of a functional system, determining the vector, that is, the direction of behavior, goal setting, and the formation of an acceptor of the result of an action. Situational emotions that arise during the assessment of individual stages of action make it possible to correct behavior and achieve the goal.” Thus, the main information load in a biological theory is carried by its sign, which marks the program of behavior and gives it a certain direction.
