A motor speech disorder in which the brain is unable to properly coordinate the muscles needed to speak words, despite not being physically weak. People with apraxia have difficulty planning and executing the movements necessary for speech, resulting in distorted or incorrect sounds, slow and strained speech, and difficulty pronunciation.
