Arithmomania (obsessive counting)
A kind of obsession, which is an obsessive, irrational need to count objects (houses, windows, people, tiles, pencils, letters, and so on), regardless of their shape, size, color, and the like. Counting can be heard by others, or it can take place in the mind, without voicing. The patient himself may consider such a bill normal for himself, rationalizing it by the fact that he needs to keep everything under control.
