Authentic Joy

a deep and sincere sense of satisfaction with life and achievements. This is a state in which joy does not depend on external circumstances but arises from internal congruence with oneself and one’s life goals. Authentic joy is associated with the concepts of authenticity and self-realization. The study of authentic joy within positive psychology has been conducted by such well-known researchers as Martin Seligman and Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. Martin Seligman, one of the founders of positive psychology, focused on factors contributing to genuine happiness and well-being. Mihay Csikszentmihalyi is known for his work on the concept of “flow” – a state of complete immersion and satisfaction in activity, closely related to the experience of authentic joy.
