Behavioral Assessment of Executive Dysfunction (BADS)
A standardized neuropsychological tool designed to assess executive deficits, especially in people with frontal lobe damage to the brain or neurological disorders affecting cognitive control. BADS includes a series of activities that measure various aspects of executive function, such as planning, problem-solving, inhibition, and flexibility. It is used to assess the impact of traumatic brain injuries, strokes, dementia, and other cognitive disorders. The assessment is particularly useful for identifying executive dysfunction, which includes difficulties with purposeful behavior, attention, self-regulation, and organization of thoughts and actions.
