Biogenetic Theories of Learning

concepts that explain the formation of individual characteristics and human behavior through biological and genetic factors. Such theories assume that all features of the psyche have an evolutionary origin and correspond to various stages of human development as a species. Some propositions of biogenetic theories include:
1) the formation of individuality is understood as predetermined by innate and genetic predispositions; development is the gradual unfolding of these properties over time, and the contribution of environmental influences is limited.
2) stages of formation and development of the psyche are correlated with periods of embryonic, childhood, adolescent, and adult age; at each of these stages certain changes and transformations of mental functions occur, new skills and abilities are acquired.
3) types of development and variations of age-related processes are derived from genetically determined constitutional types.
Biogenetic theories underestimate the role of social developmental factors and overestimate its uniformity.
