Birmingham Object Recognition Battery (BORB)
A neuropsychological test used to assess a person’s ability to recognize and identify objects. It is designed to assess visual object recognition, an important aspect of perception and cognitive processing. BORB consists of several jobs that include objects with varying degrees of difficulty, including familiar and unfamiliar objects. The test is used to assess the integrity of the ventral visual flow, which is responsible for object recognition and visual memory. It is especially useful in diagnosing visual agnosia and other conditions that impair object recognition, such as dementia, traumatic brain injuries, and stroke. Identifying deficiencies in object recognition using BORB helps to develop treatment and intervention approaches.
