Boston Object Naming Test (BNT)

A neuropsychological test designed to assess naming ability, which is an important aspect of speech function. The test consists of a series of contour images of objects that need to be named. BNT is often used to assess the presence and severity of speech disorders such as aphasia, especially in cases of anomie (inability to remember the names of objects). It is widely used in clinical practice, especially in the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and stroke-associated aphasia. The test helps distinguish between different types of naming disorders and provides information about the neural processes involved in speech production. It is also an important tool for tracking changes in cognitive function over time.
