Brixon Spatial Prediction Test

A neuropsychological assessment designed to measure cognitive flexibility and spatial prediction – the ability to predict and respond to spatial patterns or sequences. The test involves presenting the participant with a grid of squares that light up in a certain sequence. A person is asked to predict which square will light up next, based on the sequence. The test is designed to assess how well a person can recognize and predict patterns over time, which is closely related to executive functions such as working memory, task set change, and inhibition control. It is widely used to assess cognitive function in patients with traumatic brain injury, dementia, ADHD, and other neurological disorders. The Brixon test is particularly useful for assessing the functions of the brain’s prefrontal cortex involved in spatial reasoning and cognitive control.
