Cambridge Automated Neuropsychological Test Battery (CANTAB)
A comprehensive set of computer-based neuropsychological tests designed to measure a wide range of cognitive functions. CANTAB includes tests that assess areas such as memory, attention, executive function, processing speed, emotional regulation, and learning. This tool is widely used in both clinical and scientific practice to assess cognitive abilities in people with a variety of conditions, including neurological disorders, psychiatric diseases, and neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s disease. The battery consists of several subtests, each focusing on a different aspect of cognitive function, such as working memory, spatial memory, cognitive flexibility, and impulse restraint. CANTAB is particularly known for its ability to provide objective and quantitative data on cognitive function, making it valuable for early detection of diseases, monitoring disease progression, and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions or treatments.
