Cambridge Memory Intent Test (CAMPROMPT)

A standardized neuropsychological tool designed to assess prospective memory, that is, the ability to remember an intention and carry it out in the future. Prospective memory is important for everyday life – for example, not to forget about a meeting, to take medication on time, or to complete a postponed task. CAMPROMPT includes both time-based tasks (e.g., doing something at a certain interval) and event-based tasks (e.g., reacting when a certain signal appears) built into the context of other ongoing tasks. The test is particularly useful in detecting cognitive impairment associated with conditions such as traumatic brain injury, dementia, multiple sclerosis, schizophrenia, and ADHD. CAMPROMPT is valued for its environmental validity, as it recreates real-world conditions that require memorization, unlike traditional memory tests. The test results help specialists develop individualized strategies and interventions to support memory in everyday life.
