Cambridge Semantic Memory Test Battery
A standardized set of neuropsychological tasks developed at the University of Cambridge to assess semantic memory, a long-term memory system responsible for storing knowledge about the world: the meanings of words, concepts, objects and their relationships. The battery includes tasks such as naming objects, matching words and images, categorization, checking object features, and semantic fluency. It is widely used in clinical and research practice to diagnose semantic memory disorders in conditions such as semantic dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, aphasia, and other neurodegenerative or developmental disorders affecting speech and conceptual thinking.
