Cannon-Bard Theory of Emotions
A scientific hypothesis about the origin of human emotions, the essence of which is that the expression of emotions is the result of the function of hypothalamic structures, and emotional experience is the result of stimulation of the thalamus. Physiological changes and subjective sensations are separate and independent; Excitement should not manifest itself before emotions. Thus, the thalamic region is credited with a major role in this theory of emotion. This theory identifies emotions with physiological processes occurring in the central nervous system.
