A movement disorder characterized by a combination of choreic (rapid, involuntary, abrupt movements) and athetotic (slow, writhing, continuous movements) symptoms, resulting in irregular, fluid, and twisting movements. It is common in basal ganglia lesions, such as cerebral palsy, Huntington’s disease, and some metabolic disorders.
