Classification of professions

approach proposed by the Soviet psychologist E. A. Klimov, who divides specialties into five groups depending on the object of work and type of activity. Five types of professions are distinguished:
1) “Man – nature” – professions related to animate and inanimate nature. Specialists in this field study, analyze and use natural resources, take care of animals and plants.
2) “Man – technology” – focused on working with machines, mechanisms and technical devices. It is important to be able to operate equipment, understand its structure and principles of operation.
3) “Man – sign system” – the main object of labor – information, sign systems, codes and texts. Workers of this type must have a good memory, logical thinking and attention to detail.
4) “Man – man” – involve active interaction with other people. The main task of specialists is communication, assistance, training or management.
5) “Man is an artistic image” – associated with creativity and the creation of works of art. An important quality is imagination, creativity and aesthetic taste.
