Conceptual apraxia
A neurological disorder characterized by impaired understanding of the purpose and use of objects, as a result of which a person performs incorrect or inappropriate actions while maintaining motor functions. The problem is a misunderstanding of how to use objects or how to perform a task, not motor movement planning. It is associated with impaired semantic knowledge, especially in the use of tools, and is often seen in lesions of the left parietal lobe of the brain.
