Congrade amnesia

(from the Latin con – together and gradis – to go) – impairment of the ability to remember and reproduce impressions during the stay in a state of darkened consciousness and an acute psychotic state. Amnesia can be total, as it happens with stunning, shutdown of consciousness, in a state of twilight confusion and amentia, epileptic seizures. With confusion (delirium, oneiroid), intoxication, affect, amnesia can be incomplete and fragmentary to varying degrees. In some cases, amnesia is dissociated: for example, only external impressions are forgotten, while subjective experiences (hallucinatory and delusional) persist for a long time and can be quite complete, as is often the case with oneiroid confusion.
