Correction of speech and writing disorders in children

L. S. Tsvetkova presented a therapeutic concept aimed at treating speech and writing disorders in children, based on a systematic intervention aimed at restoring written and oral speech skills using specialized pedagogical-therapeutic strategies. This concept is based on the development of practical programs for the correction of speech and writing disorders in children (dyslexia, dysgraphia). Tsvetkova believes that these disorders are not just errors in the use of speech, but rather a reflection of deficits in the basic neuropsychological processes that support speech functions – auditory memory, hand-eye perception and executive functions. Therefore, correction requires therapeutic programs that combine the training of direct speech skills (such as reading and writing) with the activation of supportive psychocognitive functions. This concept is different in that it goes beyond the treatment of symptoms, but aims to restore the holistic system responsible for speech functions.
