Cultural differences
features that distinguish one culture from another, including differences in values, norms, traditions, beliefs, customs, language, communication styles, behavior and perception of the world. These differences are shaped by historical, geographical, social, economic and religious factors, and reflect the unique characteristics and ways of organizing the lives of different ethnic and social groups. Cultural differences are manifested in such areas as:
1) social norms and rules of behavior;
2) communication styles (verbal and non-verbal);
3) a system of values and priorities;
4) customs and rituals;
5) ideas about time, space, power and roles in society;
6) perceptions of health, family, work and education.
Understanding cultural differences is important for successful intercultural communication, conflict prevention and effective interaction between representatives of different cultures.
