Delusions of everyday relationships (delusions of “small scale”)

a type of delusion that covers everyday situations involving one or more persons from the patient’s immediate environment (neighbors or relatives). It is usually represented by ideas of damage that have a relatively realistic concrete everyday content. The disorder is characteristic mainly of elderly patients, it often lasts for years and is sometimes difficult to recognize, since the painful beliefs of patients are often quite plausible, reminiscent of typical squabbles and quarrels arranged by individuals prone to this.
