Delusions of persecution (persecutory delusions, paranoid delusions)
the conviction that certain personalities in one way or another follow the patient with the desire to harm him. The ideas of this circle cause anxiety, fear and attempts to avoid persecution in patients. Particular variants of the ideas of persecution are the ideas of:
1) Influences – persecutors have a deliberate effect on the body, psyche or will with the help of physical or mental influence;
2) poisoning;
3) Damage (material damage) – the pursuers steal or damage things, food, furniture, allegedly illegally took possession of real estate, etc.;
4) Relationships – the conviction that neutral or related to other persons remarks of others actually refer to the patient, hint at him;
5) Staging – the conviction that everything that happens around is a specially staged staging, pursuing special goals, everyone around is in collusion;
6) Jealousy – conviction of the partner’s infidelity, collection of evidence;
7) Litigation (or the ravings of querulants, from the Latin querulus – constantly complaining) – a stubborn struggle to defend one’s allegedly violated rights; Patients complain to all kinds of authorities.
