E. G. Simernitskaya has made a significant contribution to the development of methods and tools aimed at measuring the relationship between the emotional and cognitive development of children, which makes it possible to identify their balance or imbalance in order to develop more accurate diagnostic and treatment plans. The aim of this work is to create a system of psychological tests and scales that not only measure purely mental abilities – intelligence or memory – but also take into account the interaction of these abilities with emotional development. The tools developed by Simernitskaya are aimed at identifying the level of emotional maturity of the child, his ability to control emotions when performing tasks and how this affects the effectiveness of his activities. For example, a special scale can track a child’s ability to maintain attention in stressful situations or his emotional reaction to failures. This allows neuropsychologists to build a comprehensive picture of emotional-cognitive development, more accurately identify strengths and weaknesses, and develop educational and therapeutic intervention programs that take into account both emotional and cognitive aspects.
