Diacore test (Diacore
Mikadze, Shorshina, Maslov) is a specialized diagnostic tool for assessing higher executive functions in children, combining quantitative (normative results) and qualitative (analysis of performance strategies and behavior of the child when performing the task) assessment. The key areas of the Diacore test are:
1) Planning and organization: the child’s ability to develop a plan in advance to complete a certain task, organize the steps and organize the resources needed to complete it.
2) Cognitive flexibility: A child’s ability to switch between different rules or tasks and adapt to new variables in the process.
3) Impulse control: The child’s ability to suppress automatic or emotional reactions and delay gratification in order to achieve a goal.
4) Working memory: A child’s ability to temporarily retain information and use it to solve problems or complete tasks.
5) Attention and concentration: the child’s ability to direct attention to a certain task and hold it long enough to complete it.
