Diagnosis of psychosomatic disorders

A complex multi-level process aimed at identifying the relationship between physical symptoms, psychological emotions, and environmental and social stressors, while ensuring that there is no apparent organic cause underlying all symptoms. Diagnosis is based on a combination of a traditional medical examination, which includes laboratory tests, an X-ray examination, and a physical examination of vital organs, and a psychological examination, which includes interviews, questionnaires, and psychometric scales to measure levels of anxiety, depression, stress, and coping strategies. The patient’s medical history is also examined, including genetic factors, chronic diseases, and previous psychological experience. It also examines social and environmental factors, such as family support, occupational stress, and surrounding culture, that may influence the onset of symptoms. Diagnosis may also include physiological and biological methods, such as measuring hormone levels, autonomic nervous system activity, immune function, and inflammatory markers, to accurately understand the psychological effects on the body. This comprehensive diagnosis aims to differentiate the symptoms caused by true psychosomatic disorders from those associated with other organic diseases. She also contributes to the development of a comprehensive treatment plan that includes psychotherapy, pharmacological interventions (if necessary), behavior correction, stress management programs, and social support. Thanks to this model, the diagnosis of psychosomatic disorders allows us to understand the relationship between mind and body and provide comprehensive medical care that simultaneously takes into account psychological, physical and social aspects, thereby improving the quality of life and overall health of the individual.
