Difficulties with planning and organizing activities
A person has difficulty making plans, setting priorities, and consistently organizing tasks to organize activities effectively. Planning and organization of activities are fundamental principles of executive functions and reflect the brain’s ability to imagine future goals, break them down into stages, and coordinate available resources to achieve them. With executive dysfunction, a person is unable to organize thoughts and daily activities, which leads to difficulties with school or work tasks, forgetting appointments, and losing track of time even when performing simple tasks that require daily planning.
