Digital discrimination
A form of negative, biased or aggressive behaviour towards a person or a group of people that is carried out using digital technologies (the Internet, social networks, instant messengers, gaming platforms, etc.) and is detrimental to their psychological well-being. This is the deliberate infliction of psychological harm, based on prejudice and carried out through digital channels, the roots of which lie in the psychological mechanisms of disinhibition and anonymity, and the consequences are expressed in the violation of the mental well-being and social adaptation of the victim. Digital discrimination can lead to psychological isolation and stress, as people who are victims feel that they are not recognized and accepted in the digital space.
