is established in Russia for persons recognized as disabled, depending on the degree of impairment of body functions and limitation of vital activities, and for persons under the age of 18 the category of “disabled child”. Three groups of disability have been established. The basis for establishing disability groups is the following criteria: – for group I – social insufficiency requiring social protection and assistance, due to health disorders with a persistent, significant impairment of body functions, caused by diseases, consequences of injuries or disorders leading to the limitation of one or a combination of several categories of life activities of the third degree (ability to self-care, ability to move, ability to communicate, ability to control one’s behavior); – for group II – social insufficiency requiring social protection and assistance, due to health disorders with a persistent pronounced disorder of body functions caused by diseases, consequences of injuries or disorders leading to the limitation of one or a combination of several categories of life activities of the second degree (ability to self-care, ability to move, ability to communicate, ability to control one’s behavior); – for group III – social insufficiency requiring social protection and assistance, due to health disorders with a persistent mild or moderate impairment of body functions caused by diseases, consequences of injuries or disorders leading to a mild or moderate limitation of one or a combination of several categories of life activities of the first degree (ability to self-care, to move, to communicate, to control one’s behavior).
