Dynamical kernel hypothesis
the theory proposed by Geronimus Edelman and Gerald Tononi, which states that consciousness arises due to the coordinated work of a group of neurons, united in the so-called “dynamic nucleus”. This core integrates diverse types of information coming from different parts of the brain, ensuring the unity of conscious experience. Due to the presence of such a core, it becomes possible to unite heterogeneous aspects of sensory experience, such as sight, hearing, taste sensations and bodily experiences.
