Early Intervention Programs

are specialized educational and psychological initiatives aimed at identifying indicators of developmental, behavioral, or cognitive delays in young children (usually from birth to six years of age) and providing rapid therapeutic and counseling services to prevent problems from escalating or transforming into permanent disabilities. These programs include a thorough multidimensional assessment (medical, psychological, social, and educational) followed by a structured intervention that includes sensory stimulation techniques, speech therapy, behavior modification, and family support. The effectiveness of these programs depends on interdisciplinary partnerships between parents, teachers, and professionals. Current theories in developmental psychology confirm that early intervention can alter a child’s developmental trajectory and achieve long-term outcomes in the areas of learning, social skills, and overall adjustment, thereby reducing the psychological and material burden on the family and society.
