Eclampsia

a type of paramnesia in which memories of the distant past are experienced as happening at the moment, that is, the time line between the past and the present is erased. Such a “transfer” from the past to the present can be subjected not only to individual facts or events, but also to whole, often quite significant periods of life. In acute psychotic states, ecmnestic memories can acquire an illusory-hallucinatory character. Ekmnesias are often accompanied by a “mirror symptom” – when one’s own image in the mirror is mistaken for the appearance of a stranger.
