Educational rehabilitation
a complex complex that includes the processes of obtaining the necessary general education by a person with disabilities, and, if necessary, various levels and types of special or additional education, professional training for obtaining a new profession. It is often overlapped by the concept of “pedagogical rehabilitation”, but the social meaning of this phenomenon is much broader – access to modern and high-quality education is one of the most important social resources that ensure a decent social start, development and full existence of persons with disabilities. The blockade of access to educational institutions, the inability to obtain a high level of education leads to the lack of demand for people with disabilities in the labor market and forces them to engage in low-skilled labor. A special place in educational rehabilitation is occupied by information and educational programs for persons with disabilities and their families. They are aimed at obtaining additional knowledge in the field of medicine, protection of rights, existing social support networks, as well as improving the adaptation of a person with a disability and his/her relatives, acquiring skills for “living with a disability”, coping with the disease and a new social status, problem-solving skills and improving the quality of life.
