Egosyntony (egosynthonia)
A psychological term that describes a condition in which a person’s thoughts, feelings, or behavior are perceived by them as natural and consistent with their personality, and do not cause internal conflict or discomfort. Egosyntony is characteristic of personality disorders. Thus, a person perceives his own mental illness not as something alien and requiring treatment, but as a part of himself, that is, he embeds the disease in his picture of the world.
