Epworth Sleepiness Scale
A self-administered questionnaire designed to assess the overall level of daytime sleepiness. The participant is asked to rate the probability of dozing off on a scale from 0 to 3 in eight typical situations, such as reading, watching TV, or waiting in a car. The total score (0-24) allows you to determine the normal level of wakefulness or the presence of mild, moderate or severe excessive daytime sleepiness. The method is often used in the diagnosis of sleep disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea and narcolepsy.
