Face-Hand Test
A simple clinical neurological method for detecting sensory extinction or other sensory integration disorders often found in parietal lobe lesions or unilateral spatial neglect. During the test, light tactile stimuli are alternately and simultaneously applied to the cheek and the back of the hand on one side of the body. If the patient does not feel one of the stimuli when presented at the same time, but perceives it separately, the presence of sensory extinction is presumed. The method helps to localize lesions affecting attention and multisensory processing.
